Otherwise July sees a return of the climate and nature Long Table dinner series, a conversation with Rye from Claude on AI and impact, two of our members hosting lunch and learns, one exploring systems change and the other on finding meaning in work and the Community Collective is back for another coworking day.

That's the kind of question Nicole Baker and Sarah Patterson want you to sit with at the third, and possibly final, Long Table dinner, happening at Sanders Place on 23 July.

If you're a leader or decision maker in climate or nature, The Long Table is for you. Sarah and Nicole have created something unique in Melbourne: thoughtful facilitation, great food and conversation. The guest list is always high calibre, and the 20 seats sell out. It's worth the money.

This conversation is between Stephen Johnston, founder of Fordcastle and Rye Smith, a Claude Community Ambassador.

​It’s been designed with people working in the social impact sector in mind: charities and not-for-profits, community and government services, social enterprises, philanthropy and impact investors, and anyone working to serve communities. You don't need any AI background, but should be at least AI-curious.

​It will be a two way conversation. Hear what the Claude community in Australia is working on, and share your sector's real questions and priorities. We want to hear what you wish AI could do for your work, and what worries you.

Join us for a lunch and learn with Phoebe Frederick, Policy and Research Lead at the National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance

Her career spans the government, private, and civil sectors, and she has spent the last five years working alongside Mob to advance land rights claims and improve economic outcomes.

In this Lunch & Learn, Phoebe will share her career journey (including the bumps and detours along the way) before facilitating a hypothetical role play that draws on every part of it: A net zero project with Traditional Owners, solar proponents, mining interests, government stakeholders, environmentalists and disillusioned farmers all advocating for their position. Expect competing interests, hard trade-offs, a thousand blossoms blooming and a crash course in what multistakeholder negotiation and advocacy inside complex systems can look like.

A Practical Reflection on Finding Meaning in Work. Join us for a lunch and learn with Rahul Soans, founder of Disruptive Business Network

In this informal Lunch & Learn, Rahul will share a little of his personal journey through work, meaning, reinvention and the projects he is currently building. Drawing on his Finding Meaning in Work workshop, the session will explore how we can move beyond job titles, career plans and productivity goals to ask a more human question: what makes work feel meaningful?

Part story, part guided reflection, the session will include a short practical exercise to help participants notice where their work has felt most alive, useful, or meaningful, and what that might reveal about what comes next.
